About The Role

We consider ourselves to be the best provider of children’s homes in the country with over 95% of our homes rated good or outstanding.

Our children thrive in well-maintained homes, with clear plans for their future and the support of our education service.

We’re proud of how our people progress their careers, their skills, their abilities and their expertise.

We’re a therapeutic environment with our own therapy service, a partnership with a world-class forensic psychology service and an opportunity for you to develop your skills and become a member of our therapeutic team.

We’re truly outstanding and we want you to be, too.

About you

You will have the potential to thrive in our homes and you will have a commitment to wanting the very best for children.

You will ideally hold your Level 3 qualification or equivalent. We have our own training and assessment centre so will support you to get your qualification (or finish it). You will also have experience relevant to the residential care of children.

You will want to develop your career with the best provider of children’s homes in the country.

Why Compass?

We offer a competitive salary, generous sleep in payments, the opportunity for overtime and working in other areas / specialisms, full and ongoing training, genuine and secure career progression and opportunities and clear pathways to senior roles.

We also offer a variety of bonuses relating to performance, an enhanced staff perks scheme, generous leave allowances including additional days for birthday, emotional wellbeing, celebrations, volunteering and financial schemes including car leasing, medical help and life assurance.

What is involved?

This is a leadership role. As well as making sure every child has the right support, care and guidance, you will support our adults, too. This will involve supervision, leading shifts, ensuring that all children’s plans are followed, children are protected from harm and all policies and procedures are followed.

Key to this is making sure that children are happy, safe, enjoy living in our homes and continue to make outstanding progress in all areas of their lives. Our children sometimes need high levels of support and, as a senior member of the team, you will be an excellent role model and consistent adult in their lives.

The safety and welfare of children is at the very heart of everything we do. We have a dedicated recruitment team who scrutinise applications to ensure that everybody is recruited safely. We will ask that you undergo rigorous recruitment checks and an enhanced DBS check before your employment commences. We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from everyone. If you wish to have an informal chat about this role, please call the regional operations manager James Stroud for a chat on 01444 241 246.

Compass is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.  As we continue to grow, we know that we must have the most talented employees with diverse backgrounds, cultures, perspectives, and experiences to support our children and young people.
