About The Role

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, friendly and supportive Finance Assistant to join our Finance team in Syston.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accounts payable processing - accurately process supplier invoices, ensuring correct coding to the ledger and timely payment
  • Supplier reconciliations – perform regular reconciliations of supplier accounts to ensure all tranactions are accounted for and discrepancies are resolved promptly
  • Bank reconciliations – perform daily bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
  • Petty cash reconciliations – manage and reconcile petty cash transactions and submissions by operational teams to ensure the correct documentation is provided and company policies are followed
  • Query resolution – address and resolve invoice queries raised by suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Reporting – support the management accountant in the preparation of monthly reporting and analysis
  • Support – provide support to the finance team with ad-hoc tasks and projects as required

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in processing financial transactions is essential
  • Strong verbal and written communication, confident dealing with phone calls
  • A customer service mindset in dealing with both internal and external stakeholders
  • IT proficiency in Microsoft Office, in particular Excel
  • Exposure to accounting software e.g. Intacct is advantageous
  • Previous experience in a purchase ledger finance assistant role is desirable
  •  Team player, can do attitude, proactive with a willingness to learn


THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:
  • On occasion, be required to travel to other offices to attend training or meetings.
  • Be expected to work within the provisions of the Data Protection Act, observing strict confidentiality in relation to all aspects of work undertaken.
  • Be aware of and work within the Company’s health and safety policies, relating to the working environment and building security, reporting any issues promptly to their immediate Line Manager.
  •  Develop personal skills and capability through on-going training as provided internally by the company or externally subject to company approval and as agreed with your Line Manager.
