About The Role

Are you an experienced HR professional who thrives on resolving complex employee relations matters with empathy and integrity? Do you want to play a key role in shaping a workplace culture that empowers colleagues to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people?

As our People Services Team Leader, you’ll play a central role in guiding and supporting managers and teams across all our divisions. With your team you are the central first point of contact for all HR queries and will play a key role in championing fair and consistent people practices, helping to shape a positive workplace culture where colleagues are empowered to deliver safe, nurturing, and high-quality care and education.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead and develop the HR team, fostering continuous improvement.
  • Provide expert HR advice to managers on all people matters.
  • Oversee daily HR operations, including workload, resources, and projects.
  • Ensure Ofsted compliance, lead HR input during inspections, and manage audit activities.
  • Manage efficient employee life cycle administration and service delivery and key link with payroll.
  • Act as escalation point for complex HR queries. Resolve service delivery issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Support data analysis for reporting needs.
  • Lead TUPE processes and related training.
  • Optimise HRIS including maintenance and development and ensure accurate records and reporting.
  • Design and deliver HR training and bitesize sessions.
  • Review and update HR policies for compliance and alignment.
  • Represent HR in cross-functional projects.

 

What you’ll bring:

  • Proven experience of leading and managing an HR team.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR policies.
  • Experience of supporting Ofsted inspections and safer recruitment processes preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build effective relationships at all levels.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly in relation to payroll and contractual matters.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and service improvement.
