  • Support health and safety compliance, including fire safety and water hygiene checks.
  • Maintain external areas such as playgrounds, paths and car parks.
  • Assist with site security, opening/closing procedures and emergency responses.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
  • Flexible, trustworthy and a child-focused approach.

Desirable:

  • Basic trade qualifications (or NVQs).
  • Familiarity with fire safety and water hygiene procedures.

Requirements:

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to undergo DBS checks.
  • Basic IT skills - for logging jobs and emails.

Why Join Us?

This is a unique opportunity to become the inaugural Site Manager of a brand new Compass School, helping to shape an exceptional learning environment from the first day that our pupils enter the school. Based within a refurbished former Roman Catholic church and presbytery, this distinctive site combines character, heritage and purpose - to create a specialist setting where children and young people with special educational needs can thrive.

We are looking for a Site Manager who sees beyond the bricks and mortar - and understands that a safe, well-maintained and welcoming environment can transform lives. As a valued member of our pioneering team, you will have the opportunity to establish systems, influence decision-making and play a key role in creating a school that reflects the highest standards of care, safety and excellence.

In return, you will join a compassionate and ambitious organisation that invests in its people, values professional expertise and is committed to improving outcomes for some of the country's most vulnerable children.

We regularly review applications and reserve the right to close an advert early if we identify suitable candidates.

Safeguarding

Compass Community Schools are highly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All staff will be expected to hold or be willing to obtain Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services(previously the Criminal Records Bureau) and undergo due diligence checks on social media use.

All school-based staff have the responsibility for promoting the safeguarding and welfare of children.  All school staff should be aware of the school’s Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy and work in accordance with this document at all times.

Compass is an equal-opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace. As we continue to grow, we know that we must have the most talented employees with diverse backgrounds, cultures, perspectives, and experiences to support our children and young people.

To book on to either of these, please contact our Executive head Teacher Anthony on the following [email protected]
